In a revealing new interview, actor Bradley Cooper opened up at length about embracing nudity at home, even casually chatting with his 6-year-old daughter Lea while one of them is nude and using the bathroom. He explained the open layout of his home and family dynamic where nudity and bathroom privacy are concerned.
No Closed Doors for Bathroom Privacy for Bradley Cooper
While appearing on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Cooper revealed his open family dynamic when it comes to nudity and bathroom privacy. As per the 49-year-old actor, his bedroom, bathroom, and tub all exist together without doors, leading to regular conversations with his 6-year-old daughter Lea while one of them is nude or on the toilet.
“Where they sit and talk to me, like a foot away from me, and it’s terrible in there!” Cooper admitted. “Yeah, no, no. We talk where I’m on the toilet, she’s in the bathtub; that’s sort of the go-to.”
Cooper shares Lea with his supermodel ex Irina Shayk. When Shepard asked the A Star is Born actor whether his relaxed nudity was learned from his own upbringing, Cooper said it wasn’t.
Comfort With Nudity Differs From Bradley Cooper’s Own Childhood
“I didn’t grow up that way. At all. I don’t think I ever saw my father on the toilet until he got sick. Like, ever in my life,” Cooper responded, referencing late father Charles who died from cancer in 2011.
However, Cooper did note his dad “was always nude” and they frequently showered together when he was a child. So while bathroom co-mingling wasn’t the norm in his youth, casual nudity still played a role in his childhood.
Now the actor himself is “totally” comfortable being in the nude both alone and with his young daughter nearby. Whether genetics or learned over time, Cooper seems to have embraced shedding clothes at home.

While Cooper keeps things casual in his own abode, how this nudity habit carries over into romantic relationships remains unknown. The Oscar nominee is presently dating 28-year-old model Gigi Hadid following her split from on-again-off-again partner Zayn Malik.

Perhaps Hadid will adapt to Cooper’s clothing-optional home life. Or if their romance gets serious enough, maybe the actor will reconsider his naked daughters walking in policy out of respect for Gigi.
