‘Girl Abroad’: A Tangled Web of Scandal and Romance
According to Deadline, Girl Abroad follows the story of Abbey Bly, the daughter of a retired rock star, who finds herself caught in a whirlwind of scandal and romance when she embarks on a study-abroad adventure in London. Navigating her newfound independence, Abbey unexpectedly finds herself living with a group of charming, attractive male roommates, defying the rules against fraternizing between housemates.
As Abbey becomes entangled in a forbidden love triangle and uncovers a deeply hidden scandal involving a high-nobility family, she must navigate the complexities of her situation, all while discovering her true self in the vibrant city of London.

Van Dusen’s Vision Comes to Life with A24 and Pacesetter
Chris Van Dusen will serve as the showrunner and executive producer for the Girl Abroad adaptation through his CVD Productions. A24 and Pacesetter Productions will produce the series, with Jessica Rhoades and Alison Mo Massey serving as executive producers for Pacesetter. Elle Kennedy, the author of the novel, will also executive produce.
This project marks Van Dusen’s latest endeavor since creating the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, which captivated audiences with its lavish period drama and steamy romance. Last year, he sold a series adaptation of They Both Die At The End to Netflix, further solidifying his reputation as a storyteller with a keen eye for compelling narratives.
