During an interview with Phase Zero, on the red carpet premiere of her new film ‘Poor Things’, Stone was caught off guard when informed about her character’s planned appearance in ‘No Way Home’. “Oh my god. Is that true?” Stone exclaimed, adding that Marvel had never reached out to her about a potential cameo. “I have never heard that before. This is awesome. This is a big moment. Thank you for telling me.”

According to the book ‘MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios’, an early draft of the ‘No Way Home’ script included appearances from Gwen Stacy, Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson, and Sally Field’s Aunt May. However, screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers ultimately decided to cut these characters, fearing they were overdoing it with the cameos.
