Hosts and Judges Bring Harry Potter Magic to Food Network
The six-episode competition series Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking invites culinary artists to bring the magic of the wizarding world to life. Hosted by James and Oliver Phelps, the actors known for portraying Fred and George Weasley, the show combines the legendary storytelling of Harry Potter with fantastical baking challenges. Each week, bakers are tasked with creating elaborate edible recreations of some of the most iconic scenes from the franchise.
Renowned culinary experts Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef will serve as judges, assessing each participant’s ability to capture the essence of the magical moments in their baking. The series will also feature special appearances from Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), enhancing the nostalgic connection for viewers who grew up with the original films.
In an official statement, Betsy Ayala, Warner Bros. Discovery’s head of food content, highlighted the uniqueness of the show:

Additional Harry Potter Content Premieres on Max
Alongside Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, Max is also celebrating the holiday season with the return of Harry Potter: Fireplace (Yule Log). This themed fireplace stream offers fans an enchanting ambiance inspired by the wizarding world, adding a touch of magic to their Christmas celebrations. The Yule Log stream will be available on Max starting Nov. 14, providing a cozy, Harry Potter-themed setting for the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter fans can also look forward to a new reboot series. With casting underway, rumors have emerged that Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance may be considered for the role of Dumbledore, though nothing has been confirmed. Casting for the three main leads – Harry, Hermione, and Ron is expected to include young actors new to the franchise, making it a fresh start for Harry Potter on screen.

Although the future of Fantastic Beasts remains uncertain, recent comments from actor Eddie Redmayne and director David Yates suggest that the spinoff series is on pause. Redmayne noted,
“I think they probably have [seen the last of Newt]. That was a very frank answer, but yeah. And that’s as far as I know.” Similarly, Yates previously mentioned, “We made those three movies, the last one through a pandemic, and it was enormous fun but it was tough. We’re all so proud of [The Secrets of Dumbledore] and when it went out into the world, we just needed to sort of stop and pause, and take it easy.”
