According to CBS, Madonna’s birthday festivities took an unfortunate turn when she went horseback riding with an assistant at her Ashcombe House estate. While riding a new horse she wasn’t accustomed to, Madonna lost control and fell, sustaining severe injuries. Her children, Rocco and Lourdes, were present at the home but were not with her during the accident.

Madonna’s Injuries and Recovery Process
The “Like a Virgin” singer was immediately rushed to the hospital by her husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie. She was treated for her injuries, which included three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone, and a broken hand.
