Natasha Lyonne Debuts as Byrdie in What If…? Season 3
The What If…? season 3 trailer gives fans a first glimpse of Natasha Lyonne’s character, Byrdie, as she joins Captain Carter and Kahhori in battling a massive foe. Byrdie, an original character to the series, shows off her abilities by flying through the air and blasting lasers, although details about her origins or the universe she hails from remain under wraps.
Lyonne’s role as Byrdie fulfills an earlier report teasing a “dream casting” for a brand-new Marvel hero. Disney confirmed Lyonne’s involvement in What If…?, as well as her upcoming role in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Although Lyonne has refrained from revealing her character in First Steps, she expressed excitement, noting,
“I’m not allowed to say anything [about who I’m portraying]. I’m old enough to know that the whole thing is a gift and gravy and rare, and [I’m] taking it in stride.”
