Nicolas Cage’s ‘Ghost Rider‘ Movies Streaming Details
Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider (2007) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) hit Hulu on Nov. 1, 2024. Cage first appeared as Johnny Blaze in 2007’s Ghost Rider, directed by Mark Steven Johnson. While the film didn’t fare well with critics, it performed strongly at the box office and developed a loyal fanbase. In the movie, Johnny Blaze sells his soul to become Ghost Rider, a demon bounty hunter on a quest for vengeance.
Cage reprised his role in 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, though the sequel didn’t achieve the same financial success as its predecessor. Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the film took a darker approach but didn’t manage to reignite the franchise. According to reports, plans for a third movie were abandoned due to the underwhelming performance of the second film.
Despite the cancellation of future sequels, Cage’s portrayal of Ghost Rider remains a favorite among fans of the character. Ryan Reynolds confirmed that there were early talks of bringing Ghost Rider back in Deadpool & Wolverine, though the character was ultimately left out.

A Potential Ghost Rider Revival?
While no new Ghost Rider films have been made since, the character still pops up in various Marvel-related media, such as video games. There was also a brief attempt to create a TV spinoff featuring Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, another version of Ghost Rider, but the project never made it to production.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage will continue his Marvel journey, playing a live-action version of Spider-Man Noir in Amazon’s Spider-Noir. While it’s unclear if he’ll ever return as Johnny Blaze, the possibility remains open as more MCU multiverse projects unfold.
For now, both Ghost Rider movies streaming on Hulu starting Nov. 1.
