According to The Hollywood Reporter, the headline items in this year’s Oscars swag bags include a $50,000 trip to Chalet Zermatt Peak in the Swiss Alps, a three-day trip to the island of Saint-Barth, and a seven-day wellness retreat at the famed Golden Door resort in California.

“We are humbled that our ‘Everyone Wins’ Nominee Gift Bag continues to garner worldwide media attention and spark conversation,” said Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary in a release. “While our gifts may be famous for being fun, fabulous, and unique, they also serve to elevate small businesses, minority-owned brands, female entrepreneurs, and companies who give back.”

Beyond the luxury vacations, other highlights in the six-figure swag bags include a $10,000 microneedling treatment from Potenza RF, a wellness consultation with Dr. Nayan Patel, skincare products from Miage and INSTYTUTUM, a home management project from Maison Construction, and an innovative wine fridge from Thor Kitchen.

Distinctive Assets has been providing these over-the-top “consolation prizes” to Oscar nominees who haven’t won a statue since 2002. The value of the goodie bags has soared over the years, reaching an all-time high of $225,000 in 2020.

Bradley Cooper, Emily Blunt Among Lucky Recipients

Some of the major stars set to receive this year’s lavish $178,000 Oscars swag bags include Best Actor nominee Bradley Cooper for Nightmare Alley, as well as fellow acting nominees Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy, America Ferrera, Emma Stone, and Emily Blunt.

While the ultra-expensive gift bags generate plenty of buzz and even some backlash for being overly extravagant, founder Lash Fary argues they serve a greater purpose by promoting up-and-coming brands and minority-owned businesses. “This is celebrity marketing with a mission,” he stated.
