After stepping away from the Deadpool franchise following a public falling out with Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller is now open to returning. Despite past tensions, Miller has hinted at the possibility of reprising his role as Weasel in a potential Deadpool 4. However, it would be up to Reynolds to decide if he’ll bring Miller back to the series.
T.J. Miller on Potential Deadpool 4 Return
T.J. Miller, who played Weasel in the first two Deadpool movies, has expressed interest in returning for a potential Deadpool 4, despite previously stating that he had no desire to work with Ryan Reynolds again. In an interview on Sirius XM’s The Bonfire, Miller revealed that he recently had a conversation with Reynolds, hinting at a possible reconciliation. While he didn’t provide specific details about their talk, Miller now believes that returning to the franchise would be “awesome” and would depend on Reynolds offering him the chance. According to EW, while talking about Reynolds, Miller said:
“We talked a little while ago… I think him asking me [to return as Weasel], I think he’s just been such a good friend right now that I think it would be really, I think that would be awesome.”
Miller’s absence in the latest installment, Deadpool & Wolverine, didn’t come as a surprise due to their previous falling out. In 2022, Miller publicly discussed the tension on The Adam Carolla Show, explaining how Reynolds had made hurtful comments during a scene, leading to Miller’s decision not to return for future movies at the time. However, it seems that the door for a potential truce and collaboration might not be completely closed.

T.J. Miller’s Past Controversies and Impact on Career
Aside from his strained relationship with Reynolds, T.J. Miller has faced multiple controversies over the past several years, which may have contributed to his exit from the Deadpool franchise. In 2017, Miller was accused of sexual assault, an allegation he denied, and no legal action was taken. He was also involved in a 2018 incident where he was charged with a fake bomb threat, though the charges were later dropped.
Due to these controversies, Miller’s acting career took a hit. He lost his voice role in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and has not appeared in a feature film for nearly five years. His last roles were in The Stand-In and Underwater in 2020. Miller has expressed hope that one day he could return to the spotlight, and with his renewed interest in reprising his role as Weasel, Deadpool 4 could potentially mark his feature film comeback.
